It hasn't hit me yet..

I'm going to freakin' AUSTRALIA!!! I leave tomorrow and I don't feel like I'm going. I guess when I get to the airport and see everyone I'm going with, I'll finally realize that I'm going. I can't wait to get there though. The people that got me to go on this trip are awesome. All the people that are going on this trip are super cool and the ladies are gorgeous. It's going to be a great trip. My next post will be from DOWN UNDER!!! Pray for me while I travel!

Stress...

I do not get stressed out. But often, I find myself "over-worked." And Oh Boy am I feeling "over-worked" right now. With work, having hardly no money, and going to freakin' Australia!! But I always seem to get out of financial troubles in the last minute. I usually don't let money bother me. Everyone hopes to have millions of dollars one day, I just want a easy life.

Cruisin' on the Parkway

I'm blessed to live only a couple of minutes from the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. On a nice day, its always routine to get in my car, pop in some cruisin' music, and drive non-stop for miles on that beautiful road. The best part about the Parkway is there are no stop lights, stop signs, and nothing to stop you for miles and miles. That's freedom..

"So Much Trouble in the World"

I recently went to Jamaica. It was one of the awesome stops we made on our cruise and by far the best. I'm not Rastafarian but I have always admired that culture. I got to experience it for the first time while I was there. (First of all, I have learned to appreciate the life of Bob Marley. He was a great ambassador to the world and to many lives around this troubled place.) It was everything I could imagine. The Love, Peace, and Shine that cultures expresses to every person that visits that island cannot be beat. So there I sit with my 8 best friends and local Rastas on Raggae Beach in Ochos Rios, Jamaica and I realize that I have a great life. The whole time we are at the beach, Benny and Smokey (the local Rastafarians) constantly remind us that "there are no worries in life." Of course they are stoned out of their minds every day but coming from somebody that are under-priveleged and are living in a hostile evnvironment, means a lot. I'm so thankful for the greatest family and friends and everything I do is backed by God. That's what Life is about.

Garrett

Conversations with Rastafarians:

Garrett: "Hey Benny, I like to play football!"
Benny (local Rasta): "Like the Great Bob Marley says, Football is Life"
Garrett: "Hey Benny, I like kittens!"
Benny: "Like the Great Bob Marley says, Kittens is life MON"

I'll never forget that moment in my life.

I got this website from a friend and I thought it would be cool to post some stuff that is going on in my life right now. I know a lot of people like to sneak into people's rooms to look at what is written in their diaries , so why not tell you all. The last month has been very interesting. I made a D+ in Finance....the first D of my college career...hence the nickname "Special G." I went on a Carribean Cruise with all the guys from high school. My mom got married to Gerald after 8 years of dating. Now, I'm just working my booty off to get some money for this little trip I'm taking to Australia. So when I'm "down under," I'll be posting an online diary to let you know what is going on down there. So check back and hear what is going on in OZ!

PS.- I'm listening to the new Coldplay album as I write this post. What great, inspirational music to live life too.
